The Singapore Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for slashing 27-year-old man with a dangerous weapon.
According to the press release, on 18 October 2022 at about 1.16am, the Police responded to a case where a man had allegedly assaulted another man with a knife along Marsiling Drive.
ARRESTED WITH 17 HOURS
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 21-year-old man was involved in a fight with a 27-year-old man, and the 21-year-old man had allegedly retaliated by slashing the man with a knife before he fled the scene, the police added.
The 27-year-old man was later found with lacerations on his back and right hand when he sought treatment at the hospital.
Through extensive ground enquiries and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within 17 hours of the reported offence.
A knife which was purportedly used during the incident was seized, the police said in a release.
According to the preliminary investigations revealed that both men are known to each other.
Police investigations are ongoing.
The man will be charged in court on 20 October 2022 with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon under Section 324 of the Penal Code 1871.
The offence carries an imprisonment term which may extend to seven years, or a fine, or caning or any combination of such punishments.
