The woman, Wong Lee Tak, is a 65-year-old retiree, according to The Straits Times.

Vanessa Koh, 32, went on Facebook to criticize the irresponsible promotion and usage of the parasite treatment drug ivermectin for Covid-19 without a doctor’s prescription, which placed her mother in the hospital.

The lady is a member of the Church of the Risen Christ.

Her mother, according to her daughter, vomited violently from the mouth after eating anything as light and tasteless as oats.

Koh submitted screenshots of texts asking her mother to take ivermectin and justifying its use with religious grounds, such as claiming that taking mRNA or non-mRNA vaccines will not get you into heaven.

Wong had taken four 3mg ivermectin tablets over two days, according to ST.

The elderly woman began to become extremely ill on the second day of taking the medicine, on Friday, Oct. 1.

Her daughter indicated that she had a 39.3°C fever, joint inflammation, and violent vomiting after consuming meals.

On Friday, Koh took her mother to Sengkang General Hospital.

The woman is still in the hospital and is in stable condition.

It took months, according to the daughter, to persuade her mother to get vaccinated with the Sinopharm vaccine, which she finally did on September 23.

The first presumption was that the vaccine was to blame for the extreme reaction, but after further investigation, Koh’s mother admitted to purchasing 1,000 ivermectin pills and concealing them at home.

Koh then discovered talks regarding buying ivermectin in bulk on her mother’s phone.

Wong received a photo of a table advising the drug’s dose based on body weight from another chat group member.

The elderly woman even informed her daughter that she had taken ivermectin because she thought the vaccine was ineffective, but she couldn’t explain why.

Wong has diabetes and high blood pressure, both of which leave her vulnerable to Covid-19 problems.

The persons who encouraged Wong to take ivermectin have not contacted the woman or Koh, according to ST.

The daughter stated that she had never met any of the church members.

Parish priest Edward Lim of the Church of the Risen Christ said on Facebook that the church is aware of Wong’s situation and that she has taken the counsel of church friends to take ivermectin.

“We would like to advise everyone to protect themselves from the Covid-19 virus by taking officially prescribed safety measures available to them. Only accept vaccines approved by the authorities which are made available at accredited centres are authorised to administer the jabs.”
