Amos Yee, a Singaporean national, has seen his projected discharge date from prison in the United States brought forward by more than a year. As per prison records on Tuesday, Yee’s new projected discharge date is set for April 24, 2025, instead of October 8, 2026, as previously stated.
According to a message from the victim notification network, Yee has been transferred from the maximum-security Stateville Correctional Center to the medium-security Danville Correctional Center.
The reasons for his transfer and the advancement of his discharge date remain unknown.
Singaporean news outlet CNA has reached out to the Illinois Department of Corrections to gather more information regarding these developments.
In November this year, Amos Yee, 25, was arrested and taken into custody by the Illinois Department of Corrections in the United States. Yee’s was arrested just a month after he was released on parole, serving only half of his jail term.
