Teen Caught with Kpods in Potong Pasir, Charged In Court

The teen was caught with Kpods in Potong Pasir HDB Flat.

A 19-year-old male youth was formally charged on August 14 in Singapore with four vaping-related offences stemming from incidents at a Potong Pasir Housing Board flat and other locations.

According to Straits Times, the charges include possession of three Kpods laced with etomidate, three disposable vaporisers, and four e-cigarette devices.

The teenager was also accused of numerous other offences, including assault, methamphetamine consumption, possession of knuckle dusters and pepper spray, unlawful motorcycle riding, and attempting to sell vaping items online.

The case dates back to March 6, when he was found at a Potong Pasir flat with three Kpods containing allegedly etomidate, a potent anesthetic intended for hospital use, which is dangerous and not meant for inhalation.

Court documents reveal that he also had a vaporiser at the same flat on January 17, 2022.

Additionally, in September 2023, he reportedly posted an advertisement on Instagram showcasing various vaping products, including one resembling a cassette tape.

The youth faces further charges for possessing three disposable vaporisers, including a device he had in January 2022, and for allegedly having four disposable e-cigarette devices in his possession during the Potong Pasir incident. He is also accused of aggressive behaviour outside a school on September 16, 2023, pushing and pulling a male victim’s hair.

Other offences include consumption of methamphetamine possibly on or before June 4, 2024, and possession and sale of knuckle dusters and pepper spray, as per the report.

Notably, he was caught riding a motorcycle unlawfully along Bidadari Park Drive in July of that year, despite only holding a provisional driving license and without supervision from a licensed instructor. He was also in possession of a knuckle duster at the Potong Pasir flat on March 6, 2025.

The teenager’s pretrial conference is scheduled for August 18.

Authorities continue to urge the public to report vaping-related offences by calling the Health Sciences Authority hotline or via their online platform.
