JAIL AND CANING
According to Straits Times report, Hee pleaded guilty to 15 charges, including sexually penetrating an underage girl and producing sexually explicit material involving a minor.
The charges involved a total of 11 victims, many of whom were approached by Hee under the guise of a “sugar baby” arrangement—a term describing a younger person willing to engage with an older, wealthier man in exchange for cash and gifts.
During his sentencing, the court considered an additional 44 charges, including those relating to other victims.
According to court documents, Hee’s predatory behavior began as early as 2017 or 2018 when he followed the Instagram account of a then 15-year-old girl identified as V2. Aware of her age, Hee initiated a conversation and solicited nude pictures from her.
Hee offered V2 $150 for each nude video and $50 for each nude photograph. After she provided him with one of each, Hee transferred $200 to her via PayPal. Shortly after, he proposed a meeting, which V2 declined, suspecting his intentions.
In May 2019, Hee offered V2 $350 for sex, which she accepted. However, during the encounter, Hee recorded a video of her against her wishes, later offering her less money than initially agreed upon. After V2 blocked Hee on social media, he continued to harass her through other messaging platforms, including PayLah.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Jing Min revealed that following the incident, Hee demanded V2 return $100, threatening to leak a topless photo she had previously sent him if she refused. V2 reminded Hee that she was a minor at the time the photo was taken, but he responded with vulgarities.
Hee’s predatory behavior did not stop with V2. He targeted additional victims, including the youngest, identified in court documents as V7, who was just 13 years old.
In January 2021, he reached out to V7 via Instagram, offering her money in exchange for nude pictures. V7 complied initially, sending around 20 photos.
However, when she expressed her discomfort, Hee threatened to distribute her images to her Instagram followers if she did not continue to send him more.V7, feeling distressed by his threats, ceased communication with Hee.
Eventually, in March 2021, other victims reported Hee to the police, leading to his arrest later that year.
