Some stalls at the Bazar Raya Utara a Ramadan bazaar in Woodlands were found selling pork.
The non-compliance was reported by members of the public last weekend and investigated by the organizers.
The Marsiling Constituency Office confirmed that the organizers engaged with the operator and took “immediate corrective steps” to stop the sale of pork & apologiesed for the inconvenience caused to the bazar visitors.
The organizers assured residents and patrons of the bazaar that they will provide a Ramadan experience with performances on weekends and halal/Muslim-owned and non-halal stalls to cater to all residents.
According to a Berita Harian report, more than 80% of the food stalls sell halal food and drinks. The organizers have apologized for any inconvenience and concerns caused.

Marsiling Constituency Office discovered last weekend that there was a non-compliance at our Bazar Raya Utara in which stalls selling pork were included among the vendors.
The organisers have engaged with the operator and have taken immediate corrective steps to stop the sale of pork. We will endeavour to prevent future recurrence. We would like to thank members of the public for sharing your concerns.
We apologise for any inconvenience and concerns caused.
Lastly, we wish to assure all our residents and patrons to the bazaar that we will do our utmost to provide as best as a Ramadan experience as we can, this includes performances during the weekends as well as halal/Muslim-owned and non-halal stalls to cater to all residents.
