A 40-year-old man, who worked as a technician sexually abused and raped his daughter, in her bedroom until he was caught red-handed by his wife.
According to The Straits Times, On Monday, her 40-year-old father was sentenced to 20 years’ jail and ordered to be given 12 strokes of the cane by the High Court after he pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated statutory rape and three charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
Another six charges of sexual exploitation were taken into consideration during sentencing. Father cannot be named owing to a gag order to protect the daughter’s (Victim) identity.
DAUGHTER WAS 10 TO 11 YEAR OLD :
According to the ST, the man performed sexual acts on his daughter between August and September 2019, touching her twice a month, when she was 10.
After realising he could get away with it, he became emboldened and increased the frequency and severity of his acts.
He began abusing his daughter sexually after September 2019 and did so around once a week. When the victim turned 11, his acts escalated.
Between March 11, 2020, and October 5, 2020, he forced her into having oral sex with him one time.
When the other family members were asleep or they were alone at home, the acts were performed.
WIFE CAUGHT HIM RED HANDED
He once hurriedly went back to his bedroom in the middle of a sex act to see if his wife was still asleep.
Once he was certain that she was, he went back to the victim’s bedroom and started abusing her again. When his wife woke, went to their daughter’s bedroom, and discovered him on top of her, that is when he finally stopped.
When his wife questioned him, he pretended that the victim was having a nightmare and that’s why he was wrapping her up in a blanket.
The girl told her mother that her father had touched her inappropriately many times.
For each count of rape and sexual assault by penetration, the man could have been jailed up to 20 years and been fined or caned. Each count of outrage of modesty carries a punishment of up to two years’ jail, fine, caning or a combination of any of these punishments.
