A nurse at Raffles Hospital on North Bridge Road faces a molestation charge following an incident on June 18.
Elipe Siva Nagu, aged 34, allegedly grabbed the private parts of a male relative of a patient while at a hospital toilet around 7:30 pm, according to ST report.
The incident has led to his suspension from nursing duties.
Court documents have redacted details about the alleged victim. The case is scheduled to be mentioned again in court on July 7.
If convicted, Nagu could face up to three years in prison, a fine, caning, or a combination of these penalties.Raffles Hospital issued a statement on June 30, asserting their seriousness regarding such allegations.
In a media response the hospital said that they have suspended Nagu and are monitoring the investigation closely. They stated that they cannot comment further due to the ongoing investigation but assured that appropriate actions will be taken as the case develops.
