The Singapore Police have arrested a 57-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty.
According to the press release by SPF, the incident happened on 2 August 2022 at about 2.55pm.
The Police received a report that a girl was molested by an unknown man while she was inside a lift in the vicinity of Tampines Street 45.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within an hour from of the report.
The man was charged in court with aggravated outrage of modesty towards a young person under 14 years old on 3 August 2022.
Anyone found guilty of the offence of aggravated outrage of modesty towards a person under 14 years old under Section 354A(2) of the Penal Code 1871 will be liable for an imprisonment term of between three and 10 years, and caning.
