In yet another devastating incident, a 12-year-old girl lost her life in an accident on Yuan Ching Road on January 30.
A 12-year-old girl lost her life after being hit by a van in Taman Jurong on January 30. The driver, a 23-year-old man, has been arrested on charges of careless driving causing death, according to the police.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received an alert regarding the fatal accident, which took place on Yuan Ching Road, at approximately 3.50 pm. Tragically, the schoolgirl was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic. Another individual was rushed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for treatment.
The location of the accident is in close proximity to Jurong Secondary School and Yuvabharathi International School. Although it is understood that the victim attended an international school, specific details regarding her identity have not been released.
This incident comes just a week after the heartbreaking loss of another young life. The incident resulted in the unfortunate death of a four-year-old girl named Zara Mei Orlic.
