In a recent incident at a car park in Hougang, two men are currently assisting authorities following a scuffle that took place on Tuesday (August 1).
The police were promptly alerted to the fight at the car park located in Block 307, Hougang Avenue 5, at approximately 4:57 PM.
According to reports, a 64-year-old man and a 65-year-old man sustained minor injuries during the altercation. However, both men declined medical assistance and refused to be taken to the hospital.
The incident was captured on video and later surfaced on the Facebook group SG Road Vigilante. In the video, a man can be seen brandishing what appears to be a mop as he approaches another individual dressed in a purple shirt.
The man with the mop attempts to strike the person in purple with the handle. In response, the man in purple retaliates and delivers a punch that knocks the other man to the ground, following up with several blows to the head. The altercation lasts for about 30 seconds before bystanders intervene to break up the fight.
Based on the audio in the video, there is speculation that the scuffle might have been instigated by a blue ComfortDelGro taxi reversing into a personal mobility device. However, further information regarding the exact cause of the altercation has not been confirmed yet.
