A group of teenagers got into a fight at a public housing estate in Pasir Ris, resulting in a 15-year-old boy being sent to the hospital with injuries.
The incident occurred on Monday (July 15) around 5:30 pm at the multi-storey car park at Block 530, Pasir Ris Street 51, according to Lianhe Zaobao.
According to witnesses, the 15-year-old boy was ‘negotiating’ with a group of similarly aged boys and girls at the car park when the situation escalated into violence.
The boy was outnumbered and attacked by the group, leading to his hospitalization.
An ambulance and two police cars were seen at the scene by a Lianhe Zaobao reader who passed by.
At around 7:30 pm, four police officers were seen examining the area near the car park at the ground floor of the housing estate. It was reported that over 12 individuals were involved in the altercation.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that they received a report of the incident and that one person was taken to Changi General Hospital for treatment. The Singapore Police Force stated that the 15-year-old boy was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
Twelve male and female teenagers, aged between 13 and 17, were arrested in connection with the incident.
Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
