A TikTok user, Nina Monzolevska originally from Ukraine who is living in Singapore, posted a video on 5 February 2022 about a packet of chicken breast that she bought from NTUC Fairprice.
The 15 second video posted by Nina with a caption “FairPrice doesn’t seem that fair anymore” has now reached more than 320k users on Tiktok.
According to the video the chicken was “mislabeled”, as the weight labeled on the packet of chicken breast stated “224 grams”. But when she weighed the chicken breast at home, including the packaging, and she found out that it only weighed “164 grams”.

NTUC Responded :
In a Facebook post NTUCFairprice apologised to the customer for the inconvenience and said they are aware of the TikTok video showing labelling discrepancy.
NTUC also said that they have reached out to the customer regarding this issue and also requested other customers to approach store staff immediately if they find any labelling issues.
Here’s what they said,
We are aware of a TikTok video showing a labelling discrepancy on a product from one of our stores. Ensuring product integrity, which includes accurate labelling is of paramount importance to us.
We have reached out to the customer who posted the video to contact us to aid us in our investigation.
We ask also that customers who find any labelling discrepancy of products to approach our store staff immediately so that we may rectify the issue in a timely manner. To safeguard the interests of our customers, we have in place a policy where we will honour a full refund or exchange for products that have been inaccurately labelled.
