Covid-19 : S’pore Has Reported 3,590 New Cases & 6 Deaths On 8 October

Singapore : As of 12 Pm, Ministry of Health Singapore (MOH) has reported total 3,590 new Covid-19 cases, 2,825 in the community & 765 in migrant worker dormitories. Among the local cases 619 are aged above 60 years.

  • Six New Covid Deaths On 8 October :

3 Female & 3 Male aged between 67 & 93 years have passed away due to Covid-19 infections. Among 6 deaths 5 individuals had various underlying health issues. One was fully vaccinated, 3 partially vaccinated & 2 unvaccinated individuals.

  • Total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore till now : 120,454
  • Total Deaths reported due to Covid-19 : 142
  • Vaccination Progress :

MOH said as of 7 October 2021, 83% population has received their 1st & 2nd doses of vaccine and 85 % has received at least one dose. 371,953 individuals have received their booster shots among 600,000 eligible candidates and 86,000 have booked their appointment for the booster shots.

MOH is presently monitoring 5 clusters very closely. Among 5 clusters Pasir Panjang wholesale center has 334 total cases (4 new cases), new cases have already been quarantined. Transmission is mainly amongst workers & trade visitors.
