Seven female teenagers have been arrested following an alleged assault on a 14-year-old girl at a shopping mall car park along Orchard Road, an incident that has sparked concern over youth violence and online safety.

According to police, the incident occurred on the night of May 3. The victim was allegedly lured to the 11th-floor car park of a mall in the Orchard Road area after being invited to meet an online acquaintance. Upon arriving, she was reportedly confronted by a group of girls, several of whom she had previously known through online interactions.

The victim’s family alleged that the teenager was kicked, punched and slapped during an attack that lasted approximately 40 minutes. Following the incident, the girl managed to leave the scene and sought refuge before contacting her mother for help.

The Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed receiving a call for assistance at around 11.25pm that evening. The 14-year-old was taken conscious to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital for medical treatment.

Police subsequently arrested seven female teenagers, aged between 12 and 17, for rioting.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.

A video purportedly showing the alleged assault was later posted on the Telegram channel SG SHARES and circulated widely on social media, drawing significant public attention to the case.

According to the victim’s mother, the teenager suffered multiple injuries, including facial swelling, bruising, nosebleeds and head injuries. She was reportedly hospitalised for nine days and continues to receive medical treatment and counselling. The family says the emotional impact remains significant, with the victim experiencing distress whenever she recalls the incident.
