Two Bangladeshi men aged 30 & 36 were charged on March 10 with raping a woman along Pioneer Road.
According media reports, Ahmed Rayhan, 30, and Alam Foysal, 36, each face one count of rape, the offence carries a maximum jail term of 20 years as well as a fine or caning.
In a press release, the police said that On 8 March 2022 at about 7.25am, they received a call for assistance as a 32-year-old woman was found injured but conscious along Pioneer Road.
When Police officers arrived at the scene, the woman was observed to have suffered multiple injuries on her head and body. She was conveyed conscious to the hospital. Upon medical examination, her injuries suggested that she might have been sexually assaulted, the police said in a release.

Ahmed & Alam allegedly raped the woman from about 12.30am to about 2.20am on Tuesday in the vicinity of Tuas West Road MRT Station under the Tuas viaduct, TodayOnline reported.
The police identified and arrested both men on the same day within 12 hours of the report being lodged. Preliminary investigations revealed that both men are not known to the woman. They had allegedly brought the victim to Pioneer Road and assaulted her.
Police investigations are ongoing, They will return to court on March 17.
The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 20 years and a fine or caning.
