A 26-year-old former nurse was jailed for 10 weeks after pleading guilty to voyeurism on Tuesday (June 14).
The man planted a spy camera in a common staff toilet and watched his colleague whom he fantasised about changing clothes through footage streamed to his mobile phone on three occasions.
The man and the hospital cannot be named due to a gag order to protect the identity of his victim, also currently aged 26. He pleaded guilty to one charge of voyeurism, with another two similar charges taken into consideration for sentencing.
According to TodayOnline, the accused & the victim had worked together for about two years. At some point, he developed an attraction to the victim and began fantasising about her.

SPY CAMERA :
In July last year, the man bought a spy camera from an online shopping platform which allows users to remotely view video footage from the camera in real-time, through mobile application. The camera could also record footage but he chose not to do so.
FIXED IT ON CEILING LIGHT
The man then visited the unisex staff toilet in the hospital pantry to look for a spot to fix the spy camera. He found one such spot on the ceiling light and fixed it to clearly capture anyone who was bathing or changing.
He did not plant the camera then but waited to do so when he was on the same shift with the victim on Aug 8 last year. When she changed her clothes, he used the app on his mobile phone to peep at her for about five minutes. He removed the camera after she left but planted it again to observe her two more times over the next 10 days.
SPY CAMRERA FOUND ON FLOOR
On Aug 18, a nurse entered the toilet after the accused and found the camera which had fallen to the floor. She did not know what it was and placed it outside. Other nurses came to investigate and realised that it was a camera. They handed it over to security officers who called the police.
Seeking eight weeks’ jail for his client, the accused’s lawyer noted that no memory card was inserted at the time of the offence and that the man had only viewed the footage live without disseminating it.
For voyeurism, the accused could have been jailed for up to two years, fined, caned, or be punished with any combination of the three.
