The body of a 57-year-old man was discovered in the waters off Changi Point Ferry Terminal on Saturday (Feb 10) evening, following a search and rescue operation that spanned over 24 hours.
The man had initially gone missing on February 9 while fishing in the area near the ferry terminal.
Authorities responded to the incident promptly, with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore deploying a patrol craft, and the Singapore Civil Defence Force dispatching a marine rescue vessel to join the search efforts.
The man’s body was recovered from the water after it fished out at night on Feb 10.
The Changi Point Ferry Terminal, situated at 51 Lorong Bekukong, serves as a departure point for boats headed towards offshore islands such as Pulau Ubin. The police have indicated that no signs of foul play have been identified in connection with the man’s death.
Pictures of the search and rescue operation initially surfaced on social media platform Reddit, posted by a user known as Ok-Pop-3916. According to the user’s account, the man had been fishing at the time of his disappearance.
