Local Actor Nick Mikhail Apologises To Indonesians For Calling One Of Their Player “Black Dog”

Indonesia secured a place in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup final after their win against eight-men Singapore in a thrilling semifinal match at the National Stadium on Christmas day.

Soccer, football, whatever you want to call it, is a passionate sport. Yet sometimes, the same passion can overflow and can cause unnecessary fights. The same thing happened between the football fans of Singapore and Indonesia.

During the match there was a heated exchange between two team supporters which lead to the fight in stadium, Video shows Indonesian football player being stopped by another man during the fight.

From the video it looks like the player lost his cool and started coming towards the upper side of the audience and few of his team members seen stopping him & police were also present at the scene. It is unclear about why he got triggered.

Nick posted the below Instagram post on his personal Instagram account after he saw the above video where the Indonesian player lost his cool during last minute of the game and later Nick admitted that whatever he said was wrong.

Nick apologised for calling one of the players a “black dog” and also posting the word “Garuda dog” in his Instagram post, which he removed later.

As soon as some of the Indonesian social media pages started sharing above screenshots and started attacking him on his Instagram for using such words against the player in his Instagram post. Nick responded by posting an apology on his Facebook account and said he was angry at the Indonesian player.

He wrote,

To the people of Indonesia,
Firstly I would like to apologise for calling one of you players a black dog and also posting the word Garuda dog. I was angry at him because as a player he should kept his cool with remarks from fans and not trying to attack or fight with them on the stands. I also believe when the penalty was missed I got emotional and blurt out the dog word.

In Singapore I am known to be a fair person and I must EMPHASIS THAT I AM NOT A RACIST.I even support the LGBT people cause I’m someone who don’t judge someone personal life. I have brothers all over the world be it White/Black/Asian.

THE COLOUR of a person is never being taken an account for me. I hope the attacks of my family will stop. You can vent your anger towards me all you want but again it was an emotional moment that made me blurt out that word.

The post have been taken down and again I NICK MIKHAIL APOLOGISE FOR USING THE BLACK DOG WORD AND CALLING HIM GARUDA DOG. IM TRULY SORRY IF IT HAS MADE THE INDONESIAN PEOPLE ANGRY.

IM A HUMAN WHO LOST CONTROL OF MY EMOTIONS.

Whatever it maybe the situation we do not support such behavior by anyone, Nick admitted that he was wrong and apologised to all Indonesian fans.

Most of us already know that Faris had the chance to take our team to the final, but his penalty was pushed away by Indonesian keeper Nadeo Winata. It’s ok lah, we still believe in Faris and the team, we will come back stronger.

It’s a game we don’t have to bring in player’s family and attack his family for that right?

See what Indonesian football fans doing.

As you can see in the below video after the win against Singapore, how Indonesian captain Asnawi Mangkualam mocked Faris, he knelt in front of him and said what some claim to be: “Thank you.”

Some toxic Indonesian football fans started leaving so many “thank you” comments on Faris Ramil’s personal Instagram account.

They were happy that Indonesia won, they were mocking him because he did not score the final goal, fine no problem as a football fans we understand that and we do not have any issues with it because we will always support our team and our players, we do not care about the match results.

Look at the comments made by some toxic Indonesian football fans on Faris Ramil’s family photo on Instagram.

Dragging his family into this is very shameful.

There is still a fan war happening between SG and Indo football fans, fan wars are common but in the name of fan war going to this level is not at all acceptable.
