According to Lianhe Zaobao, a 29-year-old police officer was found dead outside the Marina Bay Sands shopping mall after apparently shooting himself.
A police official confirmed that the Central Police Division officer was found with a gunshot wound in response to Mothership’s inquiries.
On September 19 around 9.44 am, the incident happened on 1 Bayfront Avenue. After then, he was declared dead.
At the scene, a gun was discovered and confiscated.
The police also reportedly fired two shots into the air, according to local media.
He was also reportedly conveyed to hospital unconscious where he died of his injuries.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play and investigations are ongoing.
