According to the Shin Min Daily News, three teenagers aged between 13 and 17 were detained after they allegedly stole and damaged a car in Yishun.
On Sunday, January 15, at around 7:15 a.m, the police claimed they were informed of an abandoned car in the parking lot of Block 773 Yishun Avenue 3, according to the report.
A reader told SMDN that at about 10:00 on Sunday morning, he saw a large number of police officers cordoning off the scene and at least five police cars were at the scene. He also saw a car parked in the middle of the road, but he didn’t know what happened.
“Three teenagers were involved in stealing a shared car, they damaged the car, abandoned it and fled. The police blocked half of the parking lot and dispatched police dogs to investigate. The three were arrested afterward”, Shin Min Daily News reported.
The three suspects are said to have quietly driven the car away, while they were on the way a collision occurred that damaged the car body and then they allegedly abandoned the car in the middle of the car park.
Three teens, aged between 13 and 17, were subsequently arrested for stealing the car and the case remains under investigation.
