In a horrifying incident that took place at an oil palm plantation on Jalan Sungai Limau, a young restaurant waiter was brutally murdered by her boyfriend, allegedly due to a heated argument over concealing an out-of-wedlock pregnancy.
The tragic event unfolded on Monday evening, leaving the local community in shock and disbelief. Sabak Bernam District Police chief, Supt Agus Salim Mohd Alias, revealed that the suspect, a former college student, had forcefully taken the 21-year-old victim into a car, where a heated altercation ensued, according to local media reports.
The situation escalated when the suspect struck the woman on the head, ultimately leading to her demise at the plantation site at approximately 10 pm. The motive behind the crime appears to be related to the couple’s disagreement regarding the undisclosed pregnancy.
Arrested
The authorities were alerted to the incident when a member of the public discovered the burnt body of a local woman lying on the ground in the oil palm plantation area the following morning at 8 am, May 23.
Consequently, the police promptly apprehended a 20-year-old local man at a residence near Sungai Besar at 1:45 pm the same day.
The first burning occurred around 10 pm on May 22, the night of the incident, followed by another burning at approximately 7 am the next day, just before the body was discovered by passersby.
Supt Agus Salim explained during a press conference that the suspect had allegedly assaulted and stabbed his partner with a kitchen knife, inflicting fatal wounds on her abdomen before setting the body ablaze.
On the subsequent day, he returned to the crime scene armed with a barrel filled with gasoline, intending to eliminate any remaining evidence. Furthermore, the suspect disposed of items belonging to the victim along Jalan Lama in Kuala Selangor.
Background checks conducted on the suspect indicated no prior criminal record. The authorities established that the suspect and the victim had known each other since the previous year, and the victim was approximately four months pregnant at the time of the incident.
Attempts Fetal Extraction
According to another report, a tragic incident unfolded when a 21-year-old waitress became pregnant by her boyfriend. After four months of pregnancy, on the evening of May 22, the suspect reportedly drove his girlfriend to a palm oil plantation. Inside the car, he urged her to keep the pregnancy a secret.
However, she refused, leading to a heated argument between them. The disagreement quickly escalated, and the boyfriend allegedly resorted to physical violence, viciously assaulting his girlfriend.
Tragically, the altercation resulted in her untimely death. In a shocking turn of events, the suspect then proceeded to stab his girlfriend’s abdomen with a knife in an attempt to extract the unborn child from her lifeless body. These distressing details were reported by Berita Harian (BH) and have deeply disturbed the public.
The suspect has been remanded for six days, effective immediately, to facilitate further investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Meanwhile, the victim’s body, which was found to be 60 percent burnt, has been transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital for post-mortem examination.
