A 24-year-old man was found dead at East Coast Park on Aug 27 morning.
In response to media queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for a water rescue assistance near Carpark C1 at 920 East Coast Park.
When the SCDF officers’ arrived at the scene, they saw the man’s body floating in the water. They retrieved the body from the sea and brought it to shore.
Later he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A blue tent can be seen on the shore, some distance away from the ocean waters, and a jetty can be seen in the background.
According to Shin Min Daily News, a family was at ECP for a fishing trip early on Saturday (27 Aug) morning. At about 6am, they noticed people gathering along the shore.
They then noticed the body of a man lying on the sand. A member of the family told the shin min daily that the deceased, who was wearing swimming attire, was lying face up. Later SCDF officers had retrieved the corpse.
The police said it does not suspect foul play based on their preliminary investigations.
Investigations are ongoing.
