The Singapore police have arrested two male youths, aged 15 and 16, in connection with a dangerous incident that occurred on Commonwealth Avenue, where three bicycles were left obstructing the road.
The police have confirmed that a report has been filed regarding the incident, which is being classified as a rash act with common intention.
Investigations are currently underway.
According to news report, the arrest was made on December 23 following a report lodged by a private-hire vehicle (PHV) driver who encountered the bicycles in the early hours of December 20.
The incident was brought to light by Facebook user Geraldine Lim, who shared a photo of the bicycles on social media. According to her post, taken around 2 a.m., the placement of the bicycles forced a private-hire car driver to brake abruptly, spilling takeaway food all over his vehicle’s interior.
Ms. Lim noted that although the driver managed to move two of the bicycles from the road, a taxi subsequently slammed into the third bicycle, exacerbating the situation.
“This is not a prank… this is sabotaging that might cost life,” commented one concerned Facebook user in response to Ms. Lim’s post.
