The Singapore Police Force has apprehended two suspects, aged 41 and 54, in connection with a harrowing case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons.
The incident occurred on 24 July 2023, at approximately 10.55 pm, when the Police received a distress call reporting an assault in the vicinity of Buangkok Crescent.
According to press release, two men allegedly attacked a 48-year-old individual before fleeing from the scene. The victim, left with grievous injuries including stab wounds and a slash to his face, was swiftly attended to and transported to the hospital while remaining conscious.
Determined to bring the perpetrators to justice, officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division immediately launched an intensive investigation. Leveraging extensive ground inquiries and valuable assistance from Police cameras and CCTV footage, the law enforcement swiftly identified and apprehended both men on 25 and 26 July 2023, respectively. Additionally, two knives believed to be used in the attack were seized as case exhibits.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the assailants were known to the victim, and the alleged assault stemmed from a dispute, according to police.
The two men will face charges in court on 27 July 2023, under Section 324 of the Penal Code 1871 for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons. If convicted, they could face a punishment of imprisonment for up to seven years, a fine, caning, or a combination of these penalties.
The Singapore Police Force urges anyone with relevant information regarding the case or similar incidents to come forward and cooperate with the ongoing investigations.

Four Men Arrested for Rioting with Deadly Weapon
The Singapore Police Force has successfully apprehended four suspects, aged between 18 and 31, in connection with a case of rioting armed with a deadly weapon.
The incident, which took place on 13th July 2023 at 2.56 am, sent shockwaves through Boat Quay as a fight erupted between two groups, according to police press release.
During the altercation, a 22-year-old man suffered multiple lacerations on his head, arms, and face. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he remained conscious despite the severity of his injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was known to one of the assailants. Allegedly, the assailant attacked the victim with a baton during the scuffle, following a dispute.
Determined to uphold public safety, officers from Central Police Division swiftly launched extensive ground enquiries and utilized images obtained from police cameras to establish the identities of all individuals involved. The successful investigation led to the subsequent arrests of the four suspects.
As part of the evidence collected, an extended baton was recovered and seized as a case exhibit.
Two of the arrested individuals, aged between 18 and 22, will face charges on 27th July 2023 for rioting armed with a deadly weapon under Section 148 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries a significant punishment, with an imprisonment term of up to 10 years, as well as caning.
The Singapore Police Force reiterates its commitment to safeguarding public welfare and will not tolerate acts of violence. The law enforcement authorities will spare no effort in bringing those responsible for such disturbances to justice.
