A 73-year-old British man has tragically passed away on a Singapore Airlines flight from London that was hit by severe turbulence on May 21. The incident left thirty people injured, including seven critically.

The Singapore-bound SQ321, with 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board, was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok after experiencing sudden turbulence.

Passengers described a terrifying drop in altitude, with the chaotic aftermath captured in images shared on social media showing scattered items and interior damage to the Boeing plane.

Boeing, the manufacturer of the aircraft, has expressed readiness to provide support to Singapore Airlines following the incident. The flight involved was a Boeing 777-300ER en route from London to Singapore.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the individual who passed away, and our thoughts are with the passengers and crew affected by this tragedy,” Boeing stated in a released statement.

According to Mr Kittikachorn, the airport General Manager, the passenger likely died from a heart attack. Among the critically injured were seven individuals with head injuries, as well as one crew member who required hospitalization.

The Singapore Airlines flight’s emergency landing in Bangkok has prompted an investigation into the incident, with authorities looking into the cause of the turbulence and its impact on the passengers and crew on board.
