The Singapore Police have arrested a 17-year-old teenager for his suspected involvement in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty.
In a press release by SPF, they said that on 21 April 2022 at about 11.50pm, they received a report from a victim informing that she was purportedly molested by an unknown man while she was inside a lift of a block in Boon Lay Place.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 22 April 2022, the police added.
The man has been charged in court on 23 April 2022.
The offence of Aggravated Outrage of Modesty, punishable under Section 354A(1) Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term of not less than two years and not more than 10 years with caning.
